Gustavo has a degree in Advertising from UFRGS (Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul), master and PhD in Communication Sciences from the University of Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS). He worked in the advertising copywriting at the beginning of his career until his admission as a teacher in UNISINOS in 2001. Since then he has acted in several management, teaching and research activities at UNISINOS, starting in the coordination committee of the Advertising undergraduat program (2001-2003) and then leading the team that developed the academic curriculum of the first Digital Communication undergrad program in Brazil , coordinating it between 2004 and 2008 . In the academic development of his graduate studies in Communication, he started working with the field of digital interfaces and its media properties. With that and after concluding his doctorate, he was invited to join the Graduate Program in Design at UNISINOS and coordinate the university´s School of Design between the years 2009 and 2010 . From 2011 on, in addition to the management of the bachelor degree programs at the University, he joined the Graduate Program in Communication, in the Media and Audiovisual processes research field . It is one of the leaders of research group “Audiovisualities and technoculture : communication, memory and design ( TCAV ) . His research topics , always from a constant technocultural approach towards objects with audiovisualities potency, intend to advance at the studies of interfaces in online materialities ( websites , applications , softwares , among others) , as well as the construction of methodologies influenced by many media archeological perspectives.
